Default Corvette Z06 2006 vs Viper SRT-10 2005

My friend is the owner of these 2 beauties. He race the Z06 and his brother the Viper. I took all videos so excuse me if the camera moves he he he.

Z06 owns Viper and We didn't like that much he he he

Viper SRT-10 vs. Z06 on the street

Viper SRT-10 vs. Z06 at the track

We already have a new Mopar Cam waiting to be install on the Viper, this was the missing part of the Mopar performace kit (Cam, PCM and Borla Exhaust). Hopefully this will give enough power to the Viper to be more even with the Z06

For the Z06 we have not found any mods yet.... only headers. WE NEED ANOTHER COMPUTER FOR IT BADLY so it can deliver more power!!!

Any mods you want to share with us for these to babies are very well welcome.

Man that hurts seeing that. But wow those Z06's are no jokes and deserve much respect.

Yeah, it really hurts. This weekend we will be installing the mopar cam to the Viper. With the PCM, Borla Exhaust and this cam we hopefully can keep it with the Z06, everything was installed except the cam.

We also are in need of finding drag tires or slicks for these 2 cars. If anyone knows something about it where to get them, Les us know.

Thank You.

Actually though if your gonna run a 06 ZO6 vette, you oughta do it against a 06 coupe. Since it ways less than the 05' roadster.

Frankly without the cam , the system was not operating properly anyway. If you got the full MoPar set-up , it is mated to the PCM with all components to function at full power. We used to counsel folks against just getting the PCMs years ago, as they would not show any improvement ( in fact actually showed losses ) if not paired up with the entire package. Are you going to dyno the Viper after you get it all installed?

Good luck and enjoy,

If you think the Viper needs traction, you should see how the Z06 can burn those tires One of the advantages of the Viper it's the starting (more traction) but once the Z06 gets a grip, it's killing Viper time

Not a drivers race. The Z06 has about 4-5 mph on the SRT-10s in trap speed.

A C6 Z06 and a Ford GT are a drivers race.

it happens to weigh more. 20 pounds more, it's stiffer though.

The Viper doesn't need mods, it needs a driver that is in harmony with it. It could beat that Z06, it's just less forgiving to the driver and with 500 foot pounds of torque the problem is launching.

it IS a driver's race, top speed isn't how you determine the outcome of a drag race.

The Ford GT and the Z06 is a dirvers race. The Viper is showing its age and with the redesign coming soon then things will be different. But if you need any proof of this then check out pretty much any test between the GT, Z06, and Viper because in every 3 way comparison test the Viper came in last place in damn near every performance catagory

he said TRAP speed... not TOP speed.... learn to read.

yeah, its a drivers race if the driver of the z06 only has 1 leg.

Heck, just make it to the SRT Nationals ------there you will see some Drivers, as Scotty B. White and Cindi Lux will be there in their T1 Vipers. They just happen to be leading the points in two SCCA Divisions in their new Coupes.
