would running thicker oil cause lower oil pressure?
I use 20w-50 in my recently built motor and I am noticing at times that my oil gauge will sometimes drop to 0 from 5 when the cams get a bit of lope to them. I am wondering if it is the thickness of the oil or just something to do with the crane 18's. If I blip the gas even a little it goes back up to normal. I have a new oil pump from DCR so assuming that not an issue. I have the gauge in the head.
unless your motor is built with loose tolerances and enlarged oil passeges DO NOT us another oil, this places a TON of stress on the oil pump
uhhh sure about that? dcr recomends 20-50 on all their built motors. i been using it for about 3-4 years now myself.... but of course i have every DCR part in my motor

bearing clearences are different, and yes I am 100% sure puting thicker oil in a stock motor is the stupidist thing ever ...ask DCR
al it will do is lower needed flow and rob HP by overdriving the pump
I'm not here to educate fucking ricers who thing putting race oil in their car is cool, get a freaking grip people
