Default Wiseco pistons + oversized valves + BC S3 cams

Anyone running this setup? I'd imagine someone has to be.

I just bought JE 8.5 pistons but after doing some research I've read that these won't clear oversized valves without a little machine work due to the small valve reliefs. I think I'm going to ditch the JE's for out of the box wisecos and want to confirm that they'll clear with oversized valves & big cams.

Also, anyone running over sized valves, big cams and CP pistons? I was also looking at those.

I read Cp's are the way to go and have larger relief cuts. Drastic is running a pretty radical cam with his cp's no machine work. Og Crower S2's if I remember.

Heard the same thing, so I ordered CPs.

I'm pretty sure the wiseco's won't clear either. I have heard they will if you don 't adjust the timing but once you start doing that you will run into clearance issues. I say if you want to do drop in's stick to the CP's like stated already.

My car has had JE 8.5.1 with BC3 cams and OS valves and currently has CP 8.5.1 ....0 issues.

I thought JE's would have clearance issues too but apparently not? Search "Srtkid" for more info..

Just finished a friends car the other day, it had CP's in it, BC stg3's, and a TKMS head. No issues and the cams have been all over the place. I know that CP makes Brian Crowers pistons too. From my understanding the only difference is the box they come in...

my stroker has CP's in it, with Crower stg 2s.

I know another friend here has Weisco's in his motor, with an FNF race head, and BC stage 3s, no issues that I know of..

I'm building a head this winter. I'll probably stick with the crane 16's I have now, but I plan for a decent port job and over sized valves. Hope my Wisecos don't interfere with this plan.

You could call wiesco and give them your specs and I'm sure they can tell if they will clear or not. I thought the wiesco's had good valve reliefs cut into them? I know when I called wiesco about custom 10.1:1 pistons they said that they would clear with a head that has +2 exhaust, +1 intake, and crane 16's.

That's my plan, hope the 8.8:1's clear.

I think I've made up my mind. Ditching the JE's and picking up CP's. Thanks for the input guys.

CP pistons, crower rods, DCR race head and BC s3 cams. Now I just gotta decide if I wanna make the switch from AEM F/IC to DSP.

I know, I know. I just have a lot ahead of me. I'm ditching my -6an fuel system for a bosch 044 fuel pump & -8an fuel system. Building the block and a bunch of other small projects. I gotta decide if I want to add another $800-1000 for a DSP on top of an already $5,000+ build.
