Default want to build engine

all right guys i think its time to build my engine. I would really appreciate any feedback u guys have . I have around a 2000-2500 budget including install. I really want to build everything to make 400 or more hp. What kind of internals u think I should get? I seen a couple things on modernperformance.com but not so sure what to go with. I have basic bolt on like AEM CAI, agp wastegate, greddy bov, 3 exhaust no cats, short shifter, stage 1 I think thats all . right now this is my daily driver but once I start the process probably get something else. so let me know what u guys think would be the best route. Also I live in the Houston area so if anybody knows any good and reliable shops to do this install please let me know. thanx

If you want to make 400-450ish hp I wouldnt bother with a build bottom end. There are plenty of people making more than that on the stock block without any problems.

I would get the modernperformance 8.0 compression kit. it includes everything you need. If you plan on using nitrous I would get dcr crank straps. You have to send your bedplate to DCR.
If you keep a good tune you don't need a engine build. If you are using nitrous, I would build my motor.

I got the kit but you can put together something yourself with better quality for about the same price or more. Building a engine the proper way is not cheap but you can do it. You could get:

JE 8:1 stock bore pistons- Modern Performance
Eagle Rods- Modern Performance
New OEM crank (not needed but not a bad idea)- Modern Performance
Water Pump- Modern Performance
All new gaskets- Modern Performance
Clevite Main and Rod bearings- Ptp
DCR oil kit- DCR

that should give you a reliable simple build.
