jordan i sent you the cash also. i forgot to tell you. lol hopefully this thing is beasting out in the next 3 hours.
Damn dude, I forgot completely to drop it in the mail, Im an idiot.
Ill get it out first thing tomorrow, by the time i get home today to grab it the post office will be closed.
And yea, I am in agreeance with people on here, after running the D55 it has a very unique powerband, just like the D44 has. Its not a punch in the face spool or a top end killer, the car just pulls and pulls and pulls. But to be fair, I think I am around 415whp on pump at around 25psi with the D55. BUT, the power starts at 3300 and holds to 6500+. If I cant pull some 125-127mph traps with that powerband, I should be ashamed.
TMP thats what people are trying to stress to you, the delta series turbos are not onesided, the put out decent horsepower numbers, but ALWAYS put out a great powerband. I understand your dissappointment with the numbers themselves, but most of the time Jon and Ben at AGP listen more towards what you expect from the car, you have a daily driver and you want to run some great times at the track....well theres really no better turbo than the D44 for your goals. If you wanted just a 400whp car with little daily driving ability or just for the track, you should have run a bigger laggier turbo.
Case and point, tons of people run 50trims, they make tons of power at low boost, a great street turbo if you dont mind a little lag. I thought, hey, i want a heavier hitter that can make more power. Well, guess what, a 50 trim hangs with my D55 ALL DAY LONG. In fact, on the same boost until around 23 or so, the 50trim can pull on me a little. So if I had went to AGP and said I want a 50 trim killer, they wouldn't have recommended a D55. I told them specifically I want a highway monster that can make 430whp on meth and run some 125+ traps at the track, I never mentioned I wanted to street race 50 trims and beat them. Come to find out, you are hard pressed with ANY turbo to beat a 50trim from 45-100mph with any turbo, you gotta either run them out like me to a higher mph, or you gotta have a spool king like the D44 or S3 and then just hope the race ends before they catch you.

Wow!! I'm glad I been reading these pages, this is some very informative info on these turbo's.
That's just great.
So now all of a sudden a D44 is far from being a 400 whp pump turbo?
Interesting.
Just a reminder: AGP claims on their HP that the D40 puts down 390 whp on 24 psi
When on their page they have a D44 dyno that gets only 395 at 23 psi AT THE CRANK.
Call it what you will, the promise that the Delta is a 400 whp pump turbo seems to be BS.
who cares

Sell it, can't you sell it and just buy a bigger turbo to stick in it's place, hurry, before you spend anymore time on this one. Maybe you car is rejecting the turbo and wants bigger. I'm sure you won't have a problem getting rid of it.
Its not that bad. I still do believe it can hit 400whp. This is my first big turbo car so figuring out a good set-up for it is kinda a new experience.
I have dyno'd this thing MANY of times
it put down
381/416 on 22-23psi and pump gas with a safc (outta fuel)
388/406 on 23psi and a mix of pump and race on a dsp on 20* of timing (not tuned)
377/426 on 24psi and pump on a dsp on 24* of timing and 8 counts of knock (to lean afr)
The potential is there I think. Its just dynos are damn expensive over time And to me Im more impressed with my times at the track since its overall cheaper and more fun.
I will continue to go to the dyno tho until I can prove 400 is possible and maybe 420ish or so on race and give a full list of how I did it also.

The Delta 44 is a 400+whp turbo, without a doubt. It has been proven by more than a few people other than us.
I don't know where you get crank numbers at, but all our numbers are from our dyno, which is a chasis dyno, not an engine dyno.
Call it BS. I think there has got to be something wrong with your setup. I can sell parts all day long, however those parts are only going to be as good at the supporting mods allow them to be, as good as the installation, and as good as the tune. I'm sorry you're so disappointed with your turbo choice and if I'm reading your posts correctly, you seem to think we screwed you over and lied to you. For that, I don't know what to say other than I wish you the best.

I'm happy with my purchase, I'd get the turbo again.
All I was saying was: It seems as if no one on here (recently active users in this thread) seems to hit the 400 whp goal.
Did I get a little bis cranky? Yes. Only because all of a sudden everyone was telling me that the D44 isn't supposed to make 400 ponys...
As far as dyno numbers go:
The chart on the AGP homepage (D44 23 psi) shows 395 hp, calculated out of CRANK torque... That's what the chart says. I'm not making things up here.
So to sum up:
I'm honestly sorry if I pissed ppl of, and I would get an AGP turbo again.
I love the spool, it kicks in hard and it's great for what I'm using the car for (twisties).
My setup is far from perfect, I'm aware of that.
But plenty other ppl here were supporting my 400-not-so-much theory with their numbers.

Perhaps posting the supporting mods would be a better way of addressing this argument...
But to be honest i haven't seen someone make over or even 400 with that turbo on pump without meth. Hence why i went with a bigger turbo, but i still think the d44 is a great street turbo (from what i read) youll have a lot of mid range power and alot of torque. To me the d44 seems a little more powerful than the s3 turbo.
All in all, ive always lived by under estimating things. Just because someone made 401whp in 13degree weather, doesnt mean your going to make the same power in sunny south florida. You need to be realistic, if 350whp isnt enough for you, than go bigger than d44, else no ones to blame but you.
i've seen claims of these e1 and other stocker turbos making 350hp, yet no one but a "shop" car can do it...so then when everyday people buy these turbos and expect 350hp without the rest of the work being done to the car, its not realistic...think about it....
always underestimate things, that way you never get disappointed.
I plan on making 380whp with a delta 55 on pure pump and stock motor/IM/TB etc...while everyone says 400+ is easy to do. If it makes more GREAT, if not I won't be disappointed because im setting realistic goals...

you should make that on just 20psi I would think... a 55lb wheel flows alot more then mine and I made that on 23psi

If you're familiar with Dynapak chasis dynamometers, all of their wording states Flywheel. I can see where you were confused.
Making 400whp on pump (with any turbo) is not a cakewalk, and I'm sure many other people here will tell you that, especially Kason23. You need to have all the right parts, and tuned perfectly to do so, and make sure the moon is aligned with Saturn, and only on Thursdays. All joking aside, the Delta 44 has and will do 400whp on pump gas. Period.
I don't know what your setup consists of, but if you're calling it "far from perfect", then I will say you will be "far from 400whp on pump."
