Got all the stock parts removed from the car today, and installed the motor and tranny mounts, injectors, fuel pump, most of the fuel return kit, and got the coolant line plugged. We will resume tomorrow. I never realized how small the factory turbo was until it was out of the car. That thing is tiny
just finished my install right now started at 8am this morning and im finally done.....there were a couple delays due to not having right tools and a lot of trips to auto zone but it worked just fine...
did the priming step like 3 times to make sure i got enought fluid in the turbo (im anal i know)....then started up the car and there was a good bit of smoke from the car and turbo area...more than i expected...i also lost more coolant than i expected...gonna go tomorrow and get the dump tube bent a little more so it does not hit the kmember it was rattling pretty bad when the car was just idling...
the only thing that im worried bout is the coolant overflow bottle...do i need to fill it up will it fill up by itself or what the deal with it??
anyway i took some good pics of the turbo compared to the stock and will have those pics along with pics installed tomorrow!!

My install was completed last night also. Like last poster had alot of little things to take care of like drilling and tapping the hole for my EGT gauge, then I had to find a compression fitting for the probe etc. I primed mine like four times lol. Mine didn't smoke any on start up except for around the turbo were the black paint off the o2 housing was burning off. The turbo didn't make the car sound any different at idle. And this was open exhaust too. And yes the overflow bottle (plastic) is going to get replaced with the DCR tank.
I'm going to go pick the car up this morning from my buddies garage and I'll have more info later tonight.
Question on the overflow tank. I saw Westrock, I think, did a remote relocate on his.
I was wondering if I made a heat shield for just the tank if this would work or is it still to hot back there for that. I like the placement of the stock tank. But I can't afford the FTP or other ones out there and the SRI occupies the space for the AGP overflow tank.
Still saving for kit, but had thought about this for some time.
Don't pay any attention to the mess of wires and vaccum hoses under the hood those will be cleaned up after I finishing installing my AEM Eugo and boost gauge.
Im glad Im not the only one with the oild feed facing the firewall!
Also, my compressor housing was polished and stamped with AGP. I wonder why they are different.
yeah i know i thought that was wierd that mine faced the firewall too!! lol
they are different cause you prolly got the polished (bling) option i dunno maybe they ran out of regular ones andgave you that one i dunno lol
I have to get my SCT tune from them figured out though...today at 16psi during the day i was at 12.0 at redline then tonight i made a pull ane it was at 10.0 at 16 psi so i uped the boost and at 20 psi im at 11.2 and also i think maybe my wideband sensor is messed up cause at idle its just -- (dashed out) then at just criusing its all over the place...any ideas??
