Yeah I know thats what caught my eye
and they have like 6 models all for the same 599 price
this was the largest of the group
only thing that conufused me was it says designed to be externally gated BUT it has a picture with it being gated like our stocker or a hahn turbo
although that could just be a "stock" picture and not of the actual turbo as well

Edit nevermind on the picture it DOES say representative picture only

Precision turbo's are the best on the market imo. I have the ball bearing 6031RE and it has been a good great turbo. It has a 60-1 wheel in it and is rated at like 590/600hp similar to the one you are looking at. You cant go wrong with Precision.

Bueler...bueler... Anyone else have any experiance with this turbo??
I realize its journal bearing and not ball bearing but I am ok with that
Just kinda curious where full boost would be seen in the rpm range cause if it isnt going to hit full boost till say 3800 rpms or higher I may just step it down a size or to but I think with a .48 ar it should sppol fairly fast no?

Well, with my bb 6031 with a 63 a/r hits full boost at 4,000rpm's on the street and like 3,800rpm's on a load dyno. The one you are looking at is a little bigger and not bb so it will probably be slower spooling than mine is. The turbo you are looking at is to big for a 48 a/r imo, you need to get that air out better than that. I was also wanting a 48 a/r with mine but Precision said that was a bad idea that I needed to get that air out faster than the 48 a/r could, so I went with the 63 a/r.

I wouldn't recommend a .48 in that size turbo.

I'm on my 3rd Precision turbo. My first two were 61mm's with different housings. I now run a billet 6057 and I couldn't be happier with it. Amazing turbo. If you're worried about making power yet still having a powerband, spend the extra 250-300 bucks and get a billet wheel'd 60mm. I promise you it will be worth it. I'd guess the only reason you found those for that cheap is because they've been replaced with something much better and no one in their right mind would pay $900ish for that when they could get one that spools 500rpms sooner and supports 100 more whp for the same price.

Hence the reason I would be paying 599

Ahhhhh...that explains the cheaper price

If I get a new turbo, i'll probably go 6057.

Precision makes great turbos. Just about all of us at the shop run them. I will be putting the 62/65 on my personal car. Let me know if anyone has any questions on these turbos. I can guarantee the best price on all Precision turbos.

what center section do they use?

Is a stock block and rpm redline good with the 5857 Billet Precision? what rpm should full boost be seen at with the billet 5857?

I have a d44 now love it. but I want to assure a win with some local cam c6's will this turbo deliver.

and what is your price on it?
