Please help!! 04 SRT-4 Oil Pan removal.

Hi, i'm in dire need of some help here. I'm trying to remove the oil pan from my SRT and it looks like it is part of the transmission. I maybe wrong about that but if you guys can clear that up for me that would be great and also there is this bolt that is near the motor mount and i want to know whats the best and safest way around that. The motor is still in the car (it be easier out of the car) and also let me know what else i need to un bolt. If you have pictures, that would be great! If this thing were a 440 i'd know what to do. lol! Well, thanks guys for your time.

Man I just took mine off today and I wish I had taken pics. First off you have to take off your hotside pipe, then the bracket that looks like it bolts it to the tranny. there are 3 bolts on the front and two large bolts one on each side of the tranny they bolt into the tranny., then take your lower motor mount off and swing it out of the way. Then unbolt the oil pan and voila. Why such a rush to take it off???

I figured as much. Thanks for clearing that up bud. What's the hurry you say?..... i just hate to have a Mopar in the Garage that's not working, while i'm also making payments on it. I'm gonna get right on that tomorrow. I really appreciate it!

I finally got it! i didn't know how much pain in the ass it is for something so simple. Thanks guys for everything! It was a broken piston rod in cylnder #1. I'm gonna replace that sucker and get it runing. Thanks once again!

Did you cut the bsc while you were in there for some free powa.

U will see on the passenger side of the car where your MM used too be. 4 bolts to take cover off, cut chain, pull it out and, put cover back on.

FREE POWA!! Once the oil pan is off it's as easy as using bolt cutters or a grinder.

Once i cut the BSC, will it effect the cars drivability?

its in there to counter act the rotation of the crank shaft, the only purpose is to reduce the vibrations created by the motor.
I took mine out and i didnt notice any difference but i have different motor mounts also.
it doesnt affect the driveability of the car at all.
you can take the chain out without doing any further modification, or you can take the entire shaft out. if you take the whole shaft out you need to fill the void left in the motor with a windage tray, and a new pick up tube. if you dont want to you can just cut the chain and then put everything else back together

^^^^^Correctomondo. You wouldn't believe the things people say has to be done just to cut out the chain. If you only "cut the chain" no matter what people tell you, you don't have to plug any holes.
