Default Oil pump sprocket / Lower Timing Belt gear

I donnu the specific name, Oil pump sprocket / Lower Timing Belt gear, whatever...How far did you mount it on? How did you mount it?

Right now im using a dead blow plastic hammer with sand in it on a 24mm socket to slightly put it on. Im not doing any damamge but i think theres a slightly more efficiant way. Any bolts on the engine that i can put a washer or something on it to press it on with a impact???

Off topic but how do you make the home made big filter kit? Isnt it something like 2 stock gaskets? But what size bolts?

I read through some of the how to's but didnt see the exact answers to my questions.

"Im not doing any damage but i think there's a slightly more efficient way."

You may not be visually damaging the sprocket but what about inside of the motor? With the correct tools you do no damage. The correct tools needed are

To remove the damper

1) puller 1026 (other pullers work well)

To remove the sprocket

1) Special tool 6793
2) Special tool C-4685-C2

To install the sprocket

1) Special tool 6792

To install the damper

1) Special tool 6792

You can see that one tool installs both the damper and the sprocket correctly. The tool is listed here for $37.47

I appreciate the reply, and i fully understand where your coming from that taping it on may be doing unseen damage...

I just got done calling a 20 year master tech at chrysler to see if he had the tool. He says "No you can just tap it on with a mallet/plastic hammer." lol

Contact Jimmy and see how much he wants for the tool.

I have the tools and even though I do not need them all the time I have no interest in selling them because they are so handy, but you can buy them and then resell them to recoup the costs.

I would not hammer them on. Possible damage to the pump gears and the thrust bearing is not worth the chance ($37 is not too much). If any thing, get two damper bolts and cut the head off of one and weld it to the other and use a nut and small bearing to make a ghetto tool.
