oil pressure after installing crank scraper/windage tray
Today I just installed my crank scraper/windage tray from exhaust depot. I removed the balance shafts and plugged the hole last year and my oil pressure has always been 50-60 psi at idle and 70-80 under higher rpms. After installing the crank scraper today I started it up and the pressure was 80-90 at idle and under any higher rpms the gauge maxes out at 100 psi so I killed it after about a minute. Just wondering what the problem could be?
Mine is about 85-90 when cold, then drops to maybe 25-30 under normal acceleration on the highway. At idle it's fairly low. I also have the DCR oil package.

I have it hooked up on the back of the block where the stock oil sensor was.
I just have a new stock pump it has about 4k miles now since the rebuild but it has always been around 70-80ish when cold so when it was at 90 I got a little worried.
I'll try letting it warm up and hopefully it goes back down to normal.
I'm pretty confident his high psi is due to a cold motor. Those psi numbers when warmed up are abnormal regardless if that hole is plugged or not. Mine is also plugged, and the only time my readings are that high is when I start my car when the motor is cold. That's why they say never get on your car when it's cold - because the high psi of the oil pressure can blow out seals and cause leaks.
Yea, I know that when you first start the car oil pressure is high. But from his post it seems that he is talking about after it's warmed up. My car at warm up is 65psi-70psi then it drops to 30-35psi cruising and 15psi at idle. Any time you plug the BS assembly oil hole your going to see an increase in pressure. I saw an increase when I plugged my Honda H22 BS oil hole.

Ya sorry the car was cold at those pressures.
Also my "normal" pressure's I listed were after it was plugged. It's been plugged for almost a year now. It's just I've never seen it hit 100 psi before today, after I installed the crank scraper.
Well wait for it to warm up and see where the readings are. I wouldn't be too concerned at 100 psi when you first start the car. I think mine has been at 85 before.
So today I started the car up and cold it was at 80-90psi. Once it warmed up it would fluctuate between 50-75psi, it would just go up and down by itself. Cruising at 40mph it was at 60-70 but when I floored it(anything past 4k) the gauge would max out at 100psi. any ideas?
