Default oil light but have oil pressure.

The oil light is coming on after motor build but my mechanical gauge says i have oil pressure in the head.

any thoughts?

you need a new stock oil pressure sending unit.

Not that I know of. But I had the same issue a few weeks ago. Replaced the sensor, no more oil light. It's not terribly hard to get to on a stock manifold if you have small hands.

My sensor had 40,000 or so on it when it died. However, I think I may have bumped it when putting my tubular manifold on.

dont go to az....they leak .....its a pain in the ass to get to btw...enjoy cut up arms....unless u have little girl arms

tada! oil pressure! replaced the sending unit and its all good now.
i pulled off the power steering cooler and did it from underneath.
