i find it interesting that they specifically say that it is a "billet" wheel (the srt4 turbo upgrade)...as we know typically the wheels are a fine-grain casting...meaning that perhaps they are having the wheel cnc machined...perhaps?

...and if so, can they mill me a 52 lb/min "hr" wheel...please ...PLEASE!!!

also, i cannot find ANYTHING from garrett that is reverse. the gt2876/3076 runs a standard 47lb/min wheel...so its that size. and that puts it a healthy improvement over the 20g.

the way i see it here,
1. garrett made a small run of reverse wheels for a very limited market...seems odd for a company that makes millions with what they have, though mitsu did it with the 16gR for the evo's and the 15gkR for the TM evo (what we stole)
2. someone spend lots of money casting a new wheel for their own benifit...TCC/DB did it
3. its a different brand wheel...again doesnt seem plausiable because we cant find anything online. 10 years ago that wouldnt be proof enough, however, because every company is out to make a profit, and how do you make a profit if you dont advertise.
4. someone is artificially inflating information...that never happens...i think we might have our winner!!!

cnc milling a wheel would be BANK...wouldnt it...hmmm...i have a good buddy who has 4-axis machining capabilities. i have helped him work on his 1000+hp single turbo c4. im going to talk to him and see if its realistic. jers...wanna go with a bigger wheel?

Full race compressor wheels in these situations are normally CNC machined on a five-axis mill from forged aluminum billets.

OD is 2.5 so that it can fit into the factory piping. your ok. measure the inlet into the turbo (the side that goes to your air filter). compare that measurement to the inducer size i listed. if its close to one, odds are its that one

wouldnt that be crazy!? ...do i even want to ask how much? $

my only concern with some of those is a mis-matched comp to turb side....its happened on other hybrids, where the compressor wheel exchanged is just not a good match to the turbine used... (i.e. some P-trim / t03 i've seen!)

i do however really...REALLY...like the idea of a GT series 49 - 52 lb-min compressor wheel, matched to a td05, so it all fits in the s3 housings!

the part i like, is that to generate the same amount of positive boost pressure (lb/min) the shaft speed shouldnt have to be so high then (even if slightly less)...as the real enemy of the td05 turbine wheel appears to be the heat-soak and deterioration damage resulting

I'm not going to say this is 100% official information, since I just used some simple algebra with a pixel count ratio vs inches... provided that the picture posted from PTPerformance is showing the stocker next to the SST. If this is true then this should be the size of the SST:

Inducer: 1.86"
Exducer: 2.65"

pixel count...you had to count pixels to get an idea of the size???? WTF, he posted the pic next to a stocker. just measure the two and it becomes a ratio, and some simple algebra makes the sizing easy as pie

i am assuming you mean did i do a size comparison with the 3147 turbo? if that is what your asking, yes and know. i had originally asumed that the 3147 was named properly, as i discussed in the write up. after talking with agp, or better put, being chastised by agp for having no idea what i was talking about, i guess they named it improperly, and stated it flows 47lb/min (between s3 and 20g flow rates). however, they refuse to measure it for me, for whatever reason (more than likely, its because they make good money selling the turbo, and dont want us to know how to make our own version...like a couple other turbo's on the market here...especially the modified custom units). i do list the 3147 as a gt3147, but its not acurate, but until i get real information on the sizing, im not going to bother changing anything.

Anyone know were I can fine a flow chart for a 25G? I got this one from
Bill Hahn.

Are there any upgrades for the turbine on this? It has a internal gate and a
pretty small turbine judging from how fast it spools..
