My car started doing the same thing about a month ago. Like it would be at higher rpms than usual when it first cranked and then after a few seconds it would go back to the normal rpm level. My boost gauge needle would even fluctuate on the vacuum side. People gave me ALL kinds of reasons as to what was going on. Turns out, the fuel pump was bad. It wasn't holding pressure. I'd say replace it with the Walbro one. Let me know if this sounds like what's going on with your car.
