I wasn't sure if over pressuring the stocker would damage the diaphragm in side somehow. Since I will be utilizing my stock turbo for a while this is just nice to know.

I test my surge to 30psi as well, and it's never been a problem. Only problem i do have is blowing the pink line off under high boost. I had to double ziptie both ends of the pink line to make it stay put.
I ran the times in my sig with a stock surge valve, no blue plate, all stock vacuum lines on still. Mind you I HAVE blown out 2 surge diaphragms before. On bone stock turbo no less, and not on my more powerful turbo setups. Try to figure that one out, lol. There are cheap replacement kits on ebay, though, so no worries.

And to think.....people just want aftermarket to "sound cool" on the stock setup lol, I have seen more problems with these aftermarket pieces than the factory.

Dont know that you have blown them out, I think remember back in the day, there was a spate of bad ones where the material was thin and could split.

Lets analyze the stupidest mods for stock turbo....
1. BOV ....HKS what $250 new? and pipe kit 150? 400 bucks = zero HP if you buy it used will probably leak ...so you will lose HP...-5 hp 2. Intake...250 bucks...= if your lucky 3 to 5 HP So for over 650 dollars you get a range of 5 to -5 hp ..? Why not get a trinity tuner for less then that crap ...and add 30 Hp ? Dink about it... Try following this .... SRT-4 Performance Modifications and Upgrade Paths

Dont know that you have blown them out, I think remember back in the day, there was a spate of bad ones where the material was thin and could split.
I had a spare one, unknown history, that i used on my BWS reliably til the BWS itself failed. Shortly after going back to bone stock turbo i ruptured the diaphragm on it. Took the one that came with my car originally, stuck it on, made 5 passes at the track and blew out the diaphragm on that one. It's just weird, since my stock turbo didnt push the PSI or power my BWS or S3 did. By blow out, i definitely mean split the diaphragm material. I just dunno how a weak turbo could rupture it so easily, twice vs. a much stronger one.

I'm on my 2nd Srt. I'm faster than most above me. I been doing it for years since 05. I do all of my own work except tuning I leave that up to the best. Duster in my case! Mindmelt and Nigel are great too. BUT,Both I repeat both of my srts had stock turbos with hks bovs. Must of done well I ran a 12.2 on stock turbo with a pissy 1.89 60ft. Oh ya and zero problems. I've ran 28 psi on stock turbo and 27 psi big turbo. Still, no problems!!!!
Now put the hks on if you want. If you want the sound do it. Don't listen to all these haters. Now with all this said the stock surge valve is good but we all know its quite. I must me a ricer. (A fast one haha). So do it! Autoguide.com App

I guess I could have looked at your sig... 0_o I don't have anything against aftermarket except the fact that people just like the sound, like posted above, take that money and invest in a programmer and a custom tune. Something more beneficial performance wise than just noise. No hater here lol.
