Default MSD Ignition Coil problem?

Help please! I don't know what could be going on here but I have the MSD ignition coil and have been using it for about 20,000 miles without any problem but was checking the plugs and can't believe I accidentally left the two wires on the driver's side of the coil pack off!

All wires were still connected to the plugs and the wires were still connected to the posts on the coil on the passenger side but simply unplugged from the driver's side. I started the engine and realized within a few seconds what I did and shut if back off. I plugged the damn wires in and restarted the car and it ran like crap. I tried leaving the battery (negative) terminal unplugged for an hour and re-attached it and it still ran like crap. I noticed that (as you face the engine pay from the front), the back right plug wire wasn't sparking (arching) when I unplugged it while the engine was running (like the other three were).

Could this little mess up screw up a coil pack or something? I don't know why it seems to "remember" what happened and not fire one of the cylinders now. Has anyone had this kind of problem? Is there a trick to resetting the ignition or something? It's apparently currently running on three cylinders....

Thanks, I'm going nuts - I can't run the car now!

While I would think that it wouldn't be a problem doing what you have described...I suppose it is possible that you overloaded the coil pack, or even that it arced to ground and you have burned something out. The ECM would probably remember that happening as some sort of engine failure code, but engines like to run correctly so it should revert to proper operation upon everything being hooked up correctly.

I would just replace the coil pack and see if that fixes the problem.
