Default Mount help with an SRT4 engine into a 1st Gen Neon

Ok, this thing is really starting to piss me off, customer brings in car, has SRT4 long block, he did research and brought everything he was told the swap needed. His car had the 2.0L DOHC engine with an SRT4 turbo on it. He has a modded right side mount bracket. I have been ordering parts and working on this for almost 2 months, on and off as I have had to order so many parts its not funny. Anyhow, with the car being in the air, the mount was up there and me getting pissed off-I forgot to check for fitment. I finally put the engine in sat, guess what, the modified mount bracket won't work, the stock mount and plate fit together with a side bolt and the stock plate is cut for the mount to sit.

Before I rip this motor out again, will the original mount plate fit the SRT4 motor or do I have other options. I want this car gone,

Correction, HAD a 2.0L, NOW has SRT engine.

Do you have pics of this?? It was hard to figure out what you were saying till I cut n pasted your sentences lol.

Anways the SRT bracket will not work. You need an older stratus bracket along with the 2.4 adapter bolting on to that and then bolting into the passenger side mount.

I've done the 2.4 swap before back in 2000. If I could see a pic of what your working with I can tell you what needs to go and what can stay.

ok, i did:
a solid upper passenger side 1st gen mount
used the srt tranny and stock tranny mount
for the lower mounts i used customized turnbuckles from the local hardware

ive been riding around in my car since feburary and have had no problems with any of the mounts

used the 98 mount, threaded the hole and screwed a insert into it, used the bolt from the 98, 1/4 inch steel plate under the mount to get the height right

Click this, stock first gen passenger side mount is retained, and this piece allows the 2.4 to fit in. Is this what your looking for?

If you already have this part and need a brandnew stock first gen passenger side motor mount, let me know, I've got one right here.

Not to be rude but it sounds like whoever the owner is didn't research enough. DDogsrt461BLK 3.0's link to what you need is correct and the simplest solution. Other's have modded the srt mounting bracket (welded a nut on the other side etc). I know one made the srt mounts work. Many people flip the trans mount when doing a 2.4 swap.
What's he have you using for engine control btw?

if this is the case...why are you messing with the motor mounts anyway? if it is a 2.0L engine then the stock mounts work fine. maybe you miss typed.

He thought he did, guess not and I got stuck with the mess, oh well, it won't be cheap.

I am using the stock tranny mount with inserts, I modifed the front mount bracket-just had to trim it, and the stock passenger mount with inserts.

Sorry, it HAD a 2.0L, now has a SRT engine.

I was doing what I was told, never done one so how am I supposed to know. After doing some more research and with your guy's input, I know what to do. The stock bracket won't work, you need a PT version, one leg is shorter due to the use of the SRT4 mechanical timing belt setup or I cut the leg down. I won't be able to work on it for a few days so I'll order the right mount or modify the old one.
