Hey guys, I am looking for two diameters for the stock charge pipe.
The diameter of the charge pipe coupler (the stock one that has the plastic clamp on it) and the diameter of the charge pipe after the first bend at the top. I am trying to find a coupler that will reduce from the charge pipe's larger diameter pipe section that will reduce down to the stock turbo inlet size. I need to find something with a 45* angle.
I got the stock charge pipe jerry-rigged at the moment but already ordered a 2.5" to 2" 45* coupler that should work with my PTP charge pipe. I even had that thread subscribed to Jon, but it must be back on page like 17 of subscribed threads Time to clean them out.
I just took the car for a quick test drive and it seems to be running fine but the oil feed line fitting on top of the turbo is leaking oil a bit. I am waiting to let the car cool down so that I can pull the CP heatshield off and then remove the line and tighten the fitting up. Plus have Livie's doc appointment at 2:30 so will work on that later. Man it is nice having a garage big enough to fit a car and do all this work on it at home. Gives me an excuse to go and buy new tools too.
yeah, I just don't have the time to mess with working out the issues with the cars setup. I wish I could stick with it, but with work, school, home, baby, wife, there just isn't time.
I just took it out again after tightening the fitting, no more leak.
The car feels better though. I got to get some gas and then I might try going back out again. Running about 25 psi. I went with the .63ar.
The S60 is sitting in the garage at the moment. Just took it off last night. Got the 50t installed late last night and finished the charge pipe install this morning. Took some thinking to do it for the moment but I have a new reducer coupler coming this week that should allow me to use the PTP charge pipe again.
I am checking with John to see what he wants to do about it. Send it back to him or not. Otherwise it will be up on the forums for sale. I will hit you up first Nate when I hear back from John on what to do. With a built engine, port work, and cams to spool it i am sure it would give better performance, but I just don't have the money to do all that at the moment. Just want to make about 400 whp on stock engine/head and call it quits at the moment until I get some more time later this year when our baby is alittle older and is easier to take care of as time goes.
Just got back from getting gas and doing a few pulls and it pulls pretty hard. Feels alot like my E1 turbo but stronger. I likey.
