Wow. Thanks spool bus. I think this is bullshit. I'll be calling them tommorrow. I purchased mopar bedplate sealant not something I could buy at the autopart store. What a bummer.

You should have received the Mopar green anaerobic sealer. Not the red stuff for the bedplate.

Bedplate - green anaerobic sealer
4773257 $30.00 list $20.16 net
Sealant Torque Cure

Cam cap - Oil Pump - MTX halves - red anaerobic sealer
4318083 $15.00 list $10.08 net
Mopar Gasket Maker
(Loctite 518 or Permatex 51813 is the same)

from: neons.org

I am not sure on the specs on the sealant you received, but the part numbers i gave are the ones you shoud have....

On that note some folks have used the red Mopar sealant on the bedplate. I would go with what the FSM calls for.

The green Mopar sealant is expensive if you can find it. IIRC +/-30.00 a tube.

Loctite 19614 (don't think it is available anymore or really ever was) is the direct equivilent to the Mopar Green Bed Plate Sealant. The 515 is used either for the cam caps, oil pump to block, or transmission.

The main difference is that the Green has no compressed thickness and the red does. You don't want the red anywhere near your bedplate.

MOPAR GASKET MAKER
Mopar Gasket Maker is an anaerobic type gasket
material. The material cures in the absence of air
when squeezed between two metallic surfaces. It will
not cure if left in the uncovered tube. The anaerobic
material is for use between two machined surfaces.
Do not use on flexible metal flanges.

MOPAR TORQUE CURE GASKET MAKER
Mopar Torque Cure Gasket Maker is a unique
anaerobic type gasket material to be used ONLY
between the bedplate and engine block. The material
cures in the absence of air when torqued between
two metallic surfaces. It will not cure if left in the
uncovered tube. This anaerobic material is specially
made to seal the area between the bedplate and cylinder
block without disturbing the bearing clearance
or alignment of these components.
