This topic hasn't been discussed much in this thread.

What kind of timing are you guys experiencing and what stage computer are you running?

Right now I am stage 1 computer and seeing 29* of timing at redline with w/m injection. .5 - 1 KR is the max that I see with meth injection at 23 lbs of boost.

now would a fuel pressure regulator burn out the stock fuel pump? or is it designed to push much more fuel through it? i thought that was the whole reason behind grabbing the 250 lph fuel pump???

Default Manifold Studs and Bolts

Hey do I need all studs for the manifold install? I was installing this afternoon and found that the stock bolts may be to long with the Hahn manifold? I can get all studs to work but just wanted to make sure.

I would assume some very well placed studs w/ a few missing could be done but you run the risk of blowing your manifold gasket out. If any of the studs you put in did back out, and they will, then it could create a gap and all that hot exhaust gas will eat your gasket up! Plus, exhaust leak = less/no boost + lean.

I would just try to get them all in there.

Yeah i'm for sure going to have all of them in there, stock bolt pattern calls for 7 bolts and 3 studs....is that what you used or did u go all 10 studs?

Stock fuel pressure? What PSI do you usually run? What are you using to tune? Any stumble?

Need some help guys.

I installed my 20g w/ the upgraded WGA. I am getting real bad compressor surge as soon as I get on it. Above 4500 RPM the compressor surge dies down and the turbo does what it is supposed to but unless I am at 4000 RPM before I punch it I get compressor surge.

It's like the turbo hits a wall. It spools regular but it hits about 20 lbs and won't go past that. It starts surging and then smooths out. No spike! strange.

turn down the turnbuckle on the wga just try to get 17-18 psi then take small steps from there .....every vac/pressure line will eventualy pop off "IT WILL HAPPEN" just use a little dab of aqua net and a zip tie

DW 650s, w/m injection with 9 gph nozzle, 3" O2, MPx exhaust, wideband, scan gage. Not tuning fuel right now until I get a return line or some bigger injectors.

Humm I never had a line pop off in the 2 years I have had the 20G..running 32psi quite a few times (22 daily)

yzguy,

As far as the car hitting a wall at 20....are you running any fuel management system? Does the car have any idea what boost you are running aka ANY stock boost lines still hooked up? what type of boost controler are you using? Sounds as if the car is picking up on the overboost or the BC is malfunctioning. SAFC is a mapclamp. Just a few things that popped into my head when reading of your problem.

Thanks for the reply.

I am off of computer controlled boost and have been for over a year. The "wall" that I am hitting is not fuel cut. I hear compressor surge until the RPMs come up enough then it steadies out at 20 lbs.

I have a Greddy profec 2 EBC that is not hooked up right now. I am trying to get the WGA set right to get rid of the compressor surge before I hook up the EBC to fine tune things. With the EBC on I had to spike 26 lbs just so I wouldn't hit compressor surge. I don't have the fuel for 26lbs yet.

When I had the 16g and the 8lb spring wga from Hahn I didn't have any compressor surge issues (if I didn't cause them by stomping it at low RPMs). Now with this new WGA it has a 15lb spring in it but I am sure it is a modified WGA. The diaphram in the WGA might be leaking. I need to hook an air compressor up and see what is going on.

I think I have Bnice's old kit. Natsu had it, sold it, and I bought it off the guy who bought it.

Gotcha, my 20G surges typically highway low rpm high boost demand situations, (punching the gas in 5th gear at 2K RPMS). But not something that you wouldnt expect hitting 20PSI at 2K rpms.
Hope you get it figured out and let me know what the problem was.

I am going to leak test the WGA today. I have a spare one that I might throw in there and see if I get the same results. I noticed that the WGA arm is bent upward. Need to fix that too. May have happened during shipping.

Anyone have any suggestions for just a tad more fuel. I am running out at 22 lbs w/ meth injection.

Can I drop in a set of 750s and tune. I know I can't pull too much fuel but I need enough to run 24-26 lbs and right now I don't see myself going through the expense of a returnline to get 4 more lbs of boost. I don't know what to do!
