Default Guess these rods????

Heres a couple pics of some rods i bought...one for my build another for a spare back up...Theres really only one pic that you can see a visible difference in the strength of these rods:

Different oiling holes for the pins? I guess? The one on the left has 2 sets of holes, one on the right just one on top.

Teh future

Okay...the one on the left is a Pauter and the one on the right is either an Eagle or BC rod

what I don't understand is why the stock rod has no oil feed hole for the wrist pin, the only hole is down off the connecting rod rides on the crank, but yet every other after rod does?

If I remember correctly the stock rods use a pressed pin. The aftermarket ones are all bushed and use a bronze bushing which need to be lubed to prevent wear.

Nope! Stock rods are bushed and use a full floating pin with spiral locks as well!

As far as stress concentration analysis around the pin is concerned, the one with only 1 oil hole will be much stronger than the one with two. I don't know about the rest of the rod, but around the pin it will be stronger.

The rod with 2 oil holes puts them right in the middle of a very high stress point in the rod. VERY BAD! Mopar Performance has recomended against putting pin oil hols in this location on the rod for at least 40 years.

With a constant spray of cool oil, I seriously doubt the pin will be lacking oil without an oil hole. Most engines don't have piston oil squirters so aftermarket rod manufactures simple put pin oil holes in all thier rods.
