I've wondered how much a .63 ar will limit power output. It's obviously a give take scenario. Getting the .63, you will obviously spool a little quicker, but how much top end are you going to sacrifice?
Anyone know some solid numbers as far as how much a .63 will limit power output?
Well I currently have a AMS37r with a .63ar, I make 792hp 650tq and its tuned to rev to 8k. Power doesnt start to drop off till around 7500, so thats around where I shift.
Holy shiat! I guess that answers my question. .63AR it is. I had always thought you were on an .82AR...That eases my mind a bit. By the way, I may be a fellow AMS kit owner, soon. All depends on whether someone can customize an already good kit to work with a T3 flange...If not, AMS 35R here I come.
Yeah it made really great power on there 37r. It even surprised them. haha I think the most they made off the turbo was 710awhp on one of there EVOs. I do know they port them and add AMS magical dust to them. I would look to purchasing the turbo from them, if I was you.
They still making kits for the SRT with the 37R? I was under the impression they were a limited run. I'm sure you would know, as you are very close to those guys. Let me know. I may go that route.
Yeah there still making and selling the turbo kits... As for the 37r, I am not sure if they have any in stock. They sell out all the time bc there in such high demand. I would try calling them on the turbo, but I know they do offer the 35r.
Just talked to DCR today and the motor should be ready end of this week/beginning of next. Turbo should be here beginning of next week. I should have my taxes back next week and I will be getting the full blown twin fuel pump setup, -10 feed line. I am also trying to find a 4" SRI and am talking to agp about getting there apg race fmic. After breakin I am going to be talking to the tuner (I figure about 2-3 weeks for break in) and then setup to get them out to tune . 1-1.5 months more. Then I will get slicks and hit the track (try to get kicked off) and then get the cage installed. Still alot to do if you really look at it.

I agree with Nick. My buddy has a fully built SRT4 with a GT35r but with no Stand Alone. At 25 psi he trapped 118 with a 2.7 60ft. haha It's a damn fast car but he sees full boost damn near 4100. At that point if you don't plan on going stand alone and boosting 38psi I would suggest a 50 trim extended tip.
sorry for the noob question but what is a stand alone exactly?
