Greddy bov, leak??? - SRT Forums

Hi guys. Was just wondering if anyone has the same issues with what I have. I have a greddy type rz, and been having a boost leak for a few months now. My problem is, is that when the car is on idle and place my hand by the opening of it, I can feel some air coming out. Now when the car is in motion, there's a loud hissing noise coming out from it (I assume that this is where my leak is from, if I'm correct). I do know that greddy is different from all other bovs, that it opens up a tad bit, but the problem I have is that it seems to stay open even after I've set it on hard setting. I've purchased a new one, same type and model, and still the same issues. Anyone else has this problem? I'm considering of going to hks after this week, hoping it would solve this. I just bought one. How many miles does your have? I haven't had any problems.

Had it when the car was 26k miles, now its 92k. So I bought the exact same one, but still have the issues. Not sure, but the guy i bought the newer bov was from craigslist.

That hissing noise is the bov itself, from the video under acceleration.

did you try tightening the adjustment screw?

I had it set and tightened it, let me upload a picture to see if it is a legit greddy. It's on the hardest setting, but still sounds open all the time.

It should have greddy on the top...I had a greddy rs on my old gst

So before I buy this from a local in my area, Just wanted to get some 0.2 about this. It seem that my bov is leaking and staying open, and ive come down to look for a greddy bov around in craigslist and in ebay. Had one guy try to sell me a fake one (done my research) which was an hks v4. I could spot a fake for hks, but for greddy, ive been having some hard time.

guy wants 180 for it. Just want to make sure it is legit. If not, ill go ahead and purchase one from modern and spend a $45 for the adapter to save me a couple instead of a $150 cold side with adapter for hks.

I had, and had compared it. And yup, it is fake. Hence why its staying open.

Hope that my 50 trim is alright after this fix

Fake one man...the ring on the bottom should be gold/yellow for one and the top is glossy black not gun metal looking...I just got a Greddy type RZ from modern looks way different to me

Just order the modern performance BOV the you know for a FACT it's real. And it's brand new. That one looks really good but it's fake like jdm said. The colors are off.

180 would be nice if it was real but why waste it on a fake one just to go back and spend another 270 on a real one.. I would just buy the real one and be done with it
