Default engine internals - best quality

im about to purchase new pistons and rods before i go with a bigger turbo setup.

What else is necessary to run a big turbo with less risk of breaking something?

what pistons and rods do you guys think are the best?

i appreciate any input - thanks

Have to match your goals with your budget first. You dont want to spend the money on the "best" if your turbo only allows you to make HP that internals at half the price could handle with ease.

Give your target HP and what turbo you considering and then we can help you out more.

Why waste money on replacing internals when they've been proven to sustain power levels in the upper 400's? And this kind of power can surely get the car into the 11's.

Instead, I'd worry more about focusing the spending on a properly matched turbo for your specific needs, a good tuning device, and a even better tune by a reputable tuner so that this power is delivered efficiently.

Hi,

my setup is:

3071r @22PSI (in future 26 PSI)
waterintercooler
3" exhaust
3"intake
-------------------------
nearly 400hp

I want to switch to a racehead, powergoal is 500hp/ max rpm 6500

What internals do I need, would be stock internals also ok?

i am most likely going to go with the AGP/Borg Warner "S" Series s251-rs which stock internals can handle i think..

what turbine housing do you think would be the best?

i decided im going to stick with stock internals until i plan on going with a bigger turbo. i was just a little nervous because i over revved once and had to replace my entire lower half.

im not too sure how the housings work exactly and what combination would work the best. i appreciate all the advice guys it helps alot!
