everytime i get an oil change its all dark and the guy changing it goes omfg!!!! you need to get a $70 engine flush... and like all the other bs they say i just go no thanks man.
but im starting to think it IS getting darker.... so should i do it? sounds iffy for a turbo car but they have the setup there to do it. Its precision tune. they are a decent shop with decent prices.
so what do you guys say. flush or no flush?

what oil and filter are you using?
how often do you change the oil and filter?
what is you daily commute like? Stop n go? miles?
have you changed your PCV valve lately?
the color of the oil does not tell you anything about how well it is lubricating..... it does however, show that it is doing its job of cleaning and suspending contaminates instead of leaving them as deposits inside the motor. Could also mean you have alot of blowby past the rings.
I say no flush. flushing agents are harsh on seals and gaskets.

i use mobile1 oil and usually filter too... if i dont remember to get the filter then just a generic one. i change it every 3-4k pcv valve hasnt been changed in at least 30k if ever. no oil catch can and i have seen oil on the ic hoses. maybe i should change it
I suggest changing your PCV. one that is not working properly can cause engine sludge and deposits to form. A catch can would also be a good idea. What is your average commute when you drive your car? alot of short trips(oil never warms up to operating temps), will cause your oil to have alot of fuel and moisture in it. a nice 20 mile freeway drive once every 4-5 hundred miles will do your oil some good.

i had a small coolant leak but havent noticed it dropping. i drive alot. 35k in the last year or so. at least 20 mins per trip. between 4 miles city or 17 miles highway. then 1000 mile trip at least once per oil change. why do ask about the coolant?
if you have a small coolant leak that is getting into the oil, it can cause your oil to turn to sludge quickly, distroying your motor. if you are loosing coolant because of external leaks, no worries. internal leaks = engine rebuild if left unattended for to long.
edit: your commute is perfect for oil and engine life. change your PCV valve, and maybe think about getting a Used Oil Analysis done next time you change your oil.

does water in synthetic turn milky? i know how it looks in regular oil and it doesnt look like that. if its cold out i usually let it idle and warm up first unless im at the track. how do you get the pcv out. do you unscrew it? i dont wanna break it. on my mustang it pulls right out. it would suck to get shattered plastic in my valve cover.
Before unscrewing look close, there are little tiny tabs on both sides, try to at least press in one before turning, or they WILL snap off.
Personally synthetic + coolant turns way more milky than conventional, I have seen it happen in both. It actually foams up quit a bit.
Dark oil is usually a sign of heavy abuse or rapid heat change cycles, which on a turbo car is actually from hot shut offs, NOT from cold driving. Shutting down the car immediately after a moderate drive will let the oil sit in the hot turbo area and begin to coke up a bit, turning very dark.
Just something to think about, if you dont run a turbo timer, stick to 3k for oil changes even on synthetic.

how long should i set a turbo timer for? sometimes if i run it hard within a few minutes of parking ill let it idle for a few minutes but the coolant temp always shoots up while it idles
