Simon check the dia of the bolts, I think they made 2 different ones, most are 5/16" but some are 3/8" bolts.

I did some reading on a couple ARP bolts, it seems for 5/16" ~35ft/lbs w/ oil(stretch 0.0048-0.0052 in) and 3/8" ~48-50ft/lbs w/ oil(stretch 0.0055-0.0059 in). Not sure if this is correct

Heres other info
Eagle Rods;torque specs

I also found this which says what the post says: (I assume these are with moly lube)
Quote:
3/8" ARP 2000 Rods Bolts - 7/16" Bolt Head - 43 ft. pounds or .0055" - .0059" Bolt Stretch

5/16"" ARP 2000 Rods Bolts - 3/8" Bolt Head - 28 ft. pounds or .0048" - .0052" Bolt Stretch

so by this you should be able to tell by the hex head what size they are.

Deppends on what bolts the used, if they are the 2000 series I think you have to use a gauge to measure them.

Remember that most of the bolts built for Eagle are "single use only" so make sure you don't lossen them then re-tighten them it could cause a failure issue. This is directly from Eagle Rods so please don't flame the messager.

Not flaming, but I thought you could re-use the rod bolts? I mean don't you have to plasti-gauge the rod bearings to make sure the clearances are correct? Just for my own curiosity. Thanks John

I was told in an email that the rod bolts built for Eagle are a one time use. The ones for the SRT4N anyways that are marked ARP 2000. I have spares here just in case of that happening.

Ok, so I just called ARP. They said that they can be reused. The only time they can't be reused is if they have been stretched more then 0.001" ... You check stretch when they are untorqued.... I hope this clear some stuff up. Didn't want to burst your bubble John, but that didn't sound right. I was very specific with exactly what I was talking about also.

Thanks guys.

I also didn't think they were one time bolts.

I still haven't got it apart yet, too busy doing real work,

I knew there was something to do with the "stretch" of the bolts. I made a post on that but was also told that "one time use" was common replacement.

Thanks for clearing that up for me and the others on here. No bubble bursting, we just have the proper info now.
