Default Anyone have a DEI heat wrap turbo kit?

I'm planning on installing a DEI heat wrap kit on my stocker, and was wondering if anyone here has done so...The kit came with a brown sheet, a aluminum type looking sheet, and a roll of wrap and some metal ties. I also picked up a can of DEI ceramic coating. I figured since I murdered my heat shield, that this would help greatly. Was hoping someone had a picture of one done up already.

keeping heat inside the stock turbine only weakens its performance especially at higher RPM. Ever wonder why boost ALWAYS drops to about 13-16psi regardless of the spike psi? Its because the high temp, high pressure, high velocity exhaust can't get out of the turbine. The turbine scroll is simply sized too small to give a quick spool but stifles high maximum mass flow.

A way to increase mass flow is to
a) increase the cross sectional area of the turbine scroll(its A/R)

b) modify the turbine itself; often called "clipping"

c) cool the exhaust to reduce its density so that the too small turbine appears physically "larger" to the exhaust gases and provides less restriction.

IMO every vendor here of "ported" manifolds ceramic coat them is just pandering to the misinformed.

Bottom line: ANYTHING that keeps heat in the exhaust manifold HURTS PERFORMANCE with the stock turbo.

Now you might be wondering why a lot of big turbos are ceramic coated, wrapped ect. this is because they are SIZED a bit on the big side and the extra heat kept in the exhaust help them spool quicker.

So protect the things in the proximity that the heat might damage (ie the coil) but LET THE HEAT OUT
