Unhappy Another smoking exhaust

Yup another oil burning and smoking exhaust prob.

It didn't happen gradually it just started smoking when I parked. I didn't floor it today or run it hard in any way. It only happens after the car is warmed up. The car idles and starts like normal. It doesn't have a solid plume of smoke coming out it's just intermittent. It does smoke some when cruising.

I know some people have had probs with the oil feed line to the turbo being too big and requiring a restrictor. I don't have a restrictor so I know this could be the issue.

Going to do a compression test when I get home and install a restrictor

Any ideas?

Ok...no smoke is coming out while cruising. If I let off the gas for a while and then get back on it there is a big puff of smoke.

What this is leading me to believe is that it's the turbo seal. When cruising there is some back pressure in the exhaust holding some of the oil pressure back. When I let off of the gas the back pressure is gone and the oil pressure is free to push some oil past the seal. It burns and when I push the gas again it puffs out. If I let off the gas for a couple of seconds it doesn't really do it (not enough time for enough oil to come out). I have to let off for 5-10 sec for the big puff to come.

Was this causing the engine to make any noise?

Did the comp test

165 across all 4 cyl. Spark plugs are not fouled either. I don't have a way to do a leak down. I'll pick the stuff to do it up tomorrow.

I did put the oil restrictor for the turbo oil feed line in. Gonna go start it up and see if that helps.

How could bad bearings cause a 50 trim to burn oil?

Well my situation...the bearings were wore out so bad at idle the pressure from the piston were actually sucking up oil into the combustion chamber, the wore out bearings were letting the pistion get a lower stroke and throwing up xtra oil that the rings couldnt hold back-but that on my STOCK turbo-iam not sure about a 50 trim....

Think I'm gonna order a GT3076r. Then have the 50 rebuilt and sell it.
