Default Analyzing Compressor Maps - Accounting for Flow and Pressure Losses

I assume that compressor maps are designed with a perfect world system in place with no/few restrictions, unlike for our applications where the intake, intercooler and exhaust systems create some backpressure against the compressor..

I've read that every 90* bend reduces flow capacity 5% and some systems create a 2-4psi pressure drop over the intake/IC/TB. Is that accurate in real life situations and if so should we be moving our flow rates/pressure ratios up further and to the right when drawing the engine CFM line on the compressor map?

For example if you want to know the efficiency at 20psi you would now be looking at the 23psi mark and increasing the CFM rate by 10% or so?

I know it depends on the system but is the theory correct in that we should add a 'buffer' to each efficiency plot to get more accurate indication of what the engine 'sees'?
