Default after 2200 rpm my car has no power

Ive been having this problem for a few weeks and cant figure it out. It is an intermitent problem it comes and goes. Thought it was the fuel pump so i changed it and im still having the same problem. If i shut my car off when the problem happens it either hard to get it started back up, or the problem goes away and comes back the next day or so. I threw a camshaft postion sensor and a knock sensor code. Anyone experience this problem before or have any ideas?

if you are throwing codes for those and its intermittent I say check the wiring to both sensors. Bad wiring can cause intermittent problems like this and also throw codes. If your having a hard time starting as well I say check the cam sensor circuit and sensor itself. You will need a digital volt meter.

Hey I was having the same problem was working fine one day the next it wouldn't want to start for like 9-10 turn overs. When the code was thrown it wouldn't go above 2200rpms, it would just bog out and backfire. It was on and off for about 500 miles but towards the end the code was there everyday. I was throwing the P0304 code first which is cylinder 4 misfire so I was thinking new plugs and wires time. Then that went away and I kept throwing the P0340 code for cam position sensor. I picked up a new one from Autozone for 40ish bucks took 5mins to install once I took off the CAI and the problem was gone after resetting the ECU. I would take off your cam position sensor, the "gasket" is part of the actual sensor piece its green and sticks out, mine was barely sticking out I'm guessing that's what caused it to fail inevitably. There was also a lot of oil all around it and some inside which probably screwed with the readings. It's been a month with the new sensor and about another 500miles and car runs great. Good luck keep us posted.

Just saw you were from Hauppauge I lived out in Bayport until like 4yrs ago, I'm sure there are a lot of locals that could help you out too.
