You are right vcious...there's gotta be somethin wrong considering he's not even making 300whp till just after 4500 as well. There's got to be some kind of leak in the system somewhere unless his afrs just fall flat when spooling, that could cause a little bit of lag as well

Everyone that dyno'd yesterday had issues due to the high humidity. At one point it was 100 degrees with over 20% humidity. My BOV is leaking so I'm just waiting to get a new UHP with HKS flange. My afr's were perfect across the board, humidity kills these cars badly.

Just put my deposit down so my local turbo shop could start putting my 50T .48 together for me...it will be replacing my 57 trim .63 so the lag should be cut in half with the new turbo=me likey

I will be interested to see how that .48 50T works for you. What stall converter do you have in your car? I bet the GT2871 would be a perfect turbo for your car.

It's only a 2100 stall...the car needs to be streetable and I spend a lot of time from 1600-2200 rpms on the streets. If I were to go with something higher I'd be afraid of burning up the trans on the street. 2871 would be very nice but I don't want to run water lines again, plus I got the 50t .48 for the price of FREE since I sold my 57 and a few other parts laying around so it didn't cost me anything lol. Just brought it home from the turbo shop an hour ago as a matter of fact

^^^^ It's not...that's the problem!

I'm on my 3rd trans and I just rolled over 26k on the odometer...you tell me how stout the transmission is rofl. I have 2300 invested into the internals on the upgraded trans and it's supposed to hold 450 to the ground but I don't want to risk pushing it that far or I'm going to be served with divorce papers once the wife finds out i broke it again!

The trans I have now is still the same 41TE but it's got a transgo shift kit, phantom grip lsd, TCS stall converter, upgraded to a 5 clutch hub instead of a 4 clutch hub for some more holding power, all the aluminum bullshit in the trans was replaced with hardened steel parts, and all the electronics are brand new. I really wished I could have found a manual valve body for the car before I put the trans back together but it's no big deal. I've been trying to source out someone who's willing to build a transbrake for the car but sofar no avail. I keep telling myself, if this trans breaks, I'm getting a private loan and buying a DCR 3 speed...but for the price of the tranny I could just sell the car with a blown trans and wipe my hands clean of it lol

Or I could just swap it out for a PT GT manual which would be easier since everything bolts right up (2 different transmissions between srt getrag and PT getrag). Nevertheless....I absolutely positively hate manual transmissions and I will never own one so as long as I can still drive. While it may be the cool thing to do in high school, southern california stop and go traffic does not sound appealing to me with a manual transmission. I've driven plenty of MTX cars so it's not like I don't know how to drive them I just don't like the extra pedal to worry about so I'll stick with my autos for awhile.

On a side note, I was going to put the 50 on tonight (well...this morning lol) but I got home from school about 12:30am and my legs are just killing me so I don't want to be slaving over a hot car for 5 hours swapping out a turbo. I'll probably just wait till tomorrow night before I throw it on there and I'll post the results on thursday

Well the AGP .48 50T is really quite the turbo. If I hadnt of been out of work for a couple months I would still have it. I have thought about possibly using another larger turbo because theres nothing on my car right now and I dont really want to buy the same turbo again. I like the challenge of just giving it a decent street tune and bringing it to the track to get solid numbers on it. The question is can I live with the slight lag of aS256 or 60-1 or hp61? Im not sure that I can. I suppose I will have to try it to find out if the lag is worth the strong mid and insane high RPM pull. Post up once you get it on and let us know how it works with your auto. I am very interested in how it goes for you

i just got my car up and running with the 50 trim .63 a/r.. injectors come in tomorrow so i'll give it a street tune on pump at probably 20-23 psi then maybe a race tune at 27ish... car has around 70,000 miles on it so i'll be doing a new motor over the winter.. i'll post up dyno numbers if i do decide to goto a dyno, but i will post track times once i get the car dialed in!

Well my car is on the trailer finally going back to the track again after two months. Going for 11s on the drag radials and then I hope to try out the new slicks. Last time I ran 12.07 on them with the old dyno tune and that problem I mentioned where it would run 10.0 rich in 4th gear. Its all fixed now and if I can get a gallon or two of race gas just to be safe Ill try the 447 whp tune.

Thanks Mike, its looking good out here today, sunny and a high of 85 so the evening should be pretty good. I kind of have an idea what the car could run on the DRs this time provided I can drive but I really have no idea what will happen on the slicks. I never used slicks before on a FWD car, I have the two step set for 5000 rpm and the Traction control set to the drag slicks 1 map which hardly pulls any timing. We will see what happens.
