MAKE SURE YOU USE THE SAME PSI CAP AS STOCK.
MOST SYSTEMS ARE 17 MAX

For every 1 psi added in the cooling system you raise the boiling point of your coolant 3 degrees F.
Too much psi can do bad things such as blow out your radiator. Unless you have a race set up. Go with stock and nothing else.

I would check your oil for coolant and coolant for oil. Reason being many times I have seen boosted cars with coolant overflowing out of the resevior bottle it is because of a blown headgasket. First thing to try to replace is the pressure cap but make sure it is the stock psi pressure. And if it still does it than you most likely have a blown head gasket.

the stock system work with a 18lb cap

i dont have oil in the coolent or coolent in the oil for now so i suspect that the cap is not at the right pressure

the car never overheated

Use 18psi. 16 don't cut it.
