Default Winter reaked havoc on my polished lip

The polished lip of my wheels looks as if they are pitted. Is sanding them down the only way to get them back to the way they're supposed to look?

Post a picture of how bad it is. You might be able to get away w/ just some polish and maybe a power ball. If you feel you need to sand get some 1500 wet/dry emery paper and do it wet. Then polish.

I'm no professional polisher, tho I am Polish, but I've been practicing.

What I've been up to this winter.

Yea same happens to mine, just take some 1500 grit and wetsand the lips, will take off all that black lookin shit and get them smooth again, than i take a air tool and put a polish wheel on and go to town on the lips. You can also just sand them and use mothers mag by hand, just takes 5xs as long. but they will look better than new once your done.
