Default what to use for carbon fiber hoods?

i just bought a seibon carbon fiber hood from a member. i asked him if he knew how to keep it looking good so it wont fade or get yellow but he said he dint know how and dint put anything on it but just washed it. i have heard putting wax on a gel coat carbon fiber hood is not good, but seibon makes clear coat carbon fiber hoods (i think). my girlfriend baught me a wax called SMART WAX awhile ago. i was wondering if i could use it on my hood. tryed the search but no help on what to use. Any advise would be helpfull. thanks and heres the website for the wax that i have if people dont know which one im talking about.

As long as the hood has a clear coat on it you can treat it just like paint - polish and wax is totally safe - even a clay bar treatment now and then is perfectly fine.

i was looking around in google and found this forum Carbon Fiber Hood - How to work on? - Car Care Forums: Meguiar's Online . they show how to take care of swirl marks and fading and yellowing on gel coats. i also read that clear coats dont get yellow but they do fade and and start to peel. once that happens its trash. i was wondering if its posible to wet sand then re-clear coat it and get it looking like new?

I always used a cleaner wax on my old one, then Collinites (sp?) insulator wax! 3 years still looked new before i totalled the car! Over 2.5 of the years Never garaged! It was my daily driver!

Yesterday I used some products on my cousin's c/f hood that was yellow and hazzy.

I used Meguiars Scratch-X, then Meguiars paste wax and then Meguiars liquid wax. The hood looked better than new!!

Just apply and rub off. U don't need to let it sit or anything. These items can be bought at any auto parts store.

im going to buy some of these stuff for my hood. the clay bar works really good. my friend has a hood that looks kinda goldish. were thinking of wet sanding it and clear coating it. he was going to buy a new one anyways so why not mess with it. ill take pics of the hood and post it up so i can get some advise on what to do.
