Default Rust on pinch welds. *Picts*

How can I get rid of this?

Sand it down, spray primer on it then paint it?

Any other ideas? I don't want this shit to spread.

I think you musta missed the part where he says the middle is the ONLY place he can put jack stands due to being to low

That black piece? Ohhh the floor board? The pinch welds are designated lifting points. When I had access to a lift I would always put them under the pinch welds. As for jacking it up in the driveway I use the pinch weld to jack it up then place a jackstand under the control arm or the subframe black bar by the sway bar.

But back on topic: I don't think I would want to spray a rubberied coating udner there because the rust will still be there and it will trap water in there. So the best bet seems to just hand sand it with 100 grit or something coars to get as much rust off and then primer it and paint it.

I've never used this on a car but wonder how this would work for an application like that?

This is what I ended up using:
RustOleum.com

I used 100 grit sand paper and got as much of the rust as I could get off and sprayed to light coats over it.

I went over that little spot up there that I missed. Going to do the inside of the pinch welds soon. Yes bottom of car looks like crap. PRevious owner had it undercoated.

that undercoating might have been from the factory. mine has it and i bought my car new. could be something that is applied to all cars going to newengland / salty winter conditions.
