Default removing window tint...

Hey does anybody have any good tricks to remove windonw tint?? Im gettin them tinted and the guy wants a lot of money to remove the old tint. I searched google, and some people said not to use an ammonia based product, but others did.. Just want some tips to easily do it, with out peeling off tons of small pieces from just doing it with a razor blade.. Thanks!!

call the tint shop and ask them what is the best way. i would say with a razor but u don't want to do that. see how the tint shop takes it off.

dude, the tint should be strong, peal up the edges with a razor blade, then to take the glue residue off, mix up a spray bottle with dish soap and water then spray on the window and scrape off with a razor blade. easy as pie me amigo

its fine to use on the window, except the back one with the defroster. you have to use a heat gun to take that one off.

just get some tint remover and peel up an edge then use a razor and the remover in a spray bottle and pull and scrape. you'll be fine.

I'd be really careful taking off the rear tint because you can pull off the defrost wires

side windows are cake, get a water sprayer and spray around the edges and use a razor blade to peel a good section up and pull it off, once its off soak the window and run the razor blade over it and a bunch of glue should come off... make sure the glass feels smooth when you run the blade over it and keep a sharp razor...

back window is a bitch... i was told by the person who taught me how to tint to get a black garbage bag and soak the crap out of the glass and tape the bag over the window and water. put it out in the sun for a few hours and it should loosen it up pretty good...

or you can pull the tint off and scrub the shit out of it with a green scrubby pad - but it will take you 3 days if its a good tint on the window and has been on there for awhile...

i would probably take the side windows off my self and let someone else do the back window... that way if they fuck it up, they buy it, and you save your time...
