I used Rainx for the first time a few weeks back after a wash. Applied it to the windsheild, 2 passanger front and back windows, and the back window. After I washed the car again a few weeks later it appears it's no longer working. I've never used RainX before, so i'm wondering is this something you have to apply everytime you wash, or every week or so? I was thinking it would be semi permanent for a while.
You probably didn't put a think enough coat on, if I remember right it says to apply twice the first time. I haven't used it in awhile but when I did I remember it lasting months. Also are you scrubbing the windows when you wash? Then of course it will come off.
Here's little trick I learned. What you do is that you squirt on a good amount right on to the glass then you just work it all around the glass with your hand. You just got rub it all over the glass real good. Then when it's still moist on the glass get a nice towel or shamy and wipe off all the streaks and stuff. It will be a horrible pain in the ass at this point and you really got to wipe it hard and often but after that you got a bullit proof barrier. Work for me great all the time.
Also, I'm not sure if it happens to everyone but always to me. When you done and wash your hands it will feel kind of weird. Then after a few days or so it will look like your skin is peeling but it actually isnt. With my method you actually end up coating your hand in a pretty strong layer of RainX. Just a heads up.
I spray it.. wipe it on the window so it has a foggy look to the windshield, then I spray it again and wipe it lightly... let it sit for about 2-3 minutes. Then clean the windshield off with a clean dry towel.
Basically Rain X is a wax... do 2 coats, then take it off like a wax.
