Default Good bug and tar removal that won't hurt paint?

Anybody have any recomendations? I have a ton of bugs on my car so I'll be like soaking the front end, I want to make sure I get something that won't hurt the paint and works well.

I take a bath towel and get it nice and wet(the whole thing), then spread it out on the front end of the car for about 30 minutes. he moisture will soak into the bug leavins, making them easier to rub off. I also use this method on my street bike and helmet

Rubbing compound? Are you serious?

Use a clay bar with a detailing spray (you can get the kits) and it will remove all the bugs, tar and anything else stuck to the paint including overspray. You can get them at any automotive parts shop. Just be sure to protect your paint with wax after you're done.

Unless you know what you're doing, rubbing compound can severly damage your clear coat and your paint. That's normally used for paint imperfections and severe swirl marks, and you should be using a professional polisher...

Go with a clay bar, your paint will love you for it.

re: above suggestions -

rubbing compound - NO

wd-40 - works but don't do it. use only for stubborn stuff. let soak and gently remove substance

towel soak method - works great, and is very easy

At the dealership I worked at we would get the front end wet, then spray it with bug remover, then we would use a sponge with "netting" around it which you can get in any automotive cleaning department. After that you can simply rinse it off. As far as using compound, people don't know what they're talking about. What you wanna use for any spots that are giving you problems is called Cutting cream. Wynn's® Distributer in Pennsylvania | Auto Armor - Technician's Choice .

The blue cream by technicians choice is great stuff, just put it on a microfiber and you can get at any spot..

Isn't nail polish remover going to wreck your clear coat and possibly take the paint off your car??? I don't think I would try that if I were you.
