what are you using, an orbital polisher or a rotary?

try the least aggressive polish first and if that doesn't do anything use something stronger. so give the mother's stuff a try first on a small test area.

if your using a orbital buffer and the swirls are minor just use some polish with a orange pad and then some wax. if they are deeper you can use a compound as the first step and the second use a polish or a glaze then finish with wax.
