so i went to the car wash today and cleaned my car because i have not washed it in 6 months. After i washed it i felt the paint job and it felt all gritty or maybe almost like sandpaper. Would i need to clay my car orwould u guys recommend something else
I could have sworn dishwashing soap was bad for clearcoats......
I havent heard about it being bad for the clear coat, but i remember hearing that using dish soap will remove any wax that has been applied.
That might be why he suggested using it, to get that top coat of wax covering everything off so you're down to just the paint and exposed contaminates before you clay it.
Exactly...It attacks wax just like it attacks grease on dishes. Just remember to wax it afterwards

Yea i said dish washing soap because it removes the top layer of wax, and it will just expose the paint. MAKE SURE to wax it afterwords for a better wax and your car will loookk shiny!
take some glass cleaner. perferably one that foams. just sprey it on and go to town with the clay. or you can buff your car. eather one takes time and they both work
