Well this is my 1st time clay baring my car, and i have some question.
My rear end has a lot of small particals that are in the paint, lots of small stuff. Well after about spending about 20 min just on the rear end area there is still crap in the paint. Iv spray a little and clay it, helps a little. Id spray alot and helps a little. But if i keep doing it at this rate i can spend almost an hour alone just on the read taking all that crap off.
Has anyone else had that problem or can give me some tips.
Also if i clay bar, do i have to put a coat of wax on it right away? OR do i have to wax it at all?
Im half way done, reason i stop was it got way to dark and hard to see, i will continue tomorrow but looking to make this a little easier on myself.
After you clay bar use a paint cleaner on the whole car, then go back over the entire car w/ paint polish...then you can wax it
And you absolutely should wax after clay barring.
The first time I did these steps to clean my car I was blown away by the results and it took me about 7-8 hrs and my arm was about to fall off
Thanks i also bout the cleaner, polish and wax too. This is going to kill me lol
Also with the cleaner, polish, wax, i know that if i get the wax on the molding it will mess it up, but will the cleaner and polish mess up the molding if i get some on it here and there?
I also wanted to use Scratch X on the paint too, where would i do that step at? Before the paint cleaner or after cleaner?

I think that the scratch X is unnecessary if you are using the cleaner, polish, and wax.
If your worried about getting it on the trim go pick up some painters tape and go to town
Unfortunately the rear gets the brunt of shit thrown at it as the air swirls around back there while driving.
Claying the rear for hours is normal if your using a mild clay (which is what most of the over the counter clay kits are).
A more abrasive clay would probably cut down claying time however it is just that - abrasive. And it will most likely marr the paint in the process which is what you want to avoid unless your going to do paint correction afterwards then it won't really matter much.
yeah it does suck..im only a hour in and the right side of my car does feel better and it starting to look better..I have to go back at some spots tho.
Clay in the door jams? I don't go that far considering no one ever sees them until a door is open for a brief second. A simple light cleaning with soap and water and coat of wax is all they really need.

But if you want to be anal, go for it...
Just wondering, cause if im already spending all this time doing that i might as well do between the doors as well.
Ill post pics up when i get done, this rear end is gonna kill my hand.
i wish i had a machine..i might check auto zone or something tomorrow see how much they are lol, anyone had luck with them?
Ok well i got up really early this morning and finished claying the car. My arms are killing me. I did step 1, paint cleaner. I might say that the car looks damn good. Its really shinny haha its blinding. But i have some concerns. On the front bumper there are what look like scuff marks. Now i had some around the car as well and the paint cleaner removed with some hard rubs to it. But the front ones dont want to remove. I sat there for about 20 min in one spot, and nothing?
I finished doing the step 1 all around. Im gonna wait for step 2, so i can hear what some of you have to say and i can get some help and make it looks good and not half ass it.
