Default Car Wash Warning

I've been working at a car wash since I was 16 (19 now) and I have seen so many nice cars ruined by the car wash. I really do not understand why people take their nice cars in to the car wash. Those wraps are spinning so fast just slamming in to your car with dirt filled cloth. When my srt gets here I will never run my car thru the wash. Only hand washing at the quarter wash for me.

Just be advised that car washes, unless touch less, do scratch your car.

Oh and another warning...during the winter at some car washes the brushes freeze and scratch your car with little pieces of ice. A kid at the wash I work at accidentally sent a car without warming up the wash first and destroyed the brand new bendz. It just destroyed it lol. We paid for it though lol.

I was at a car wash one time and saw a lady put the foaming brush on the ground when she was done. Instead of back on the rack where she got it. When she left I went over to the brush and looked at it, it was full of small rocks. If I had any quarters on me, I would have rinsed it, but I couldn't. I feel bad for who ever used it next. Now I make it a point to look at the brush before I use it. My paint job sucks, but I still don't want to ruin it more.

Another thing about car washes are all the damn accidents that happen INSIDE the wash!

So many old people pop off the rollers in the middle of the wash and all the cars behind them slam in to them. Also old people tend to think that they are in neutral, but they are really in drive. So when their car starts rolling forward they think its from the wash when in reality its from being in drive. They then go thru the wash like a rocket and smash in to the cars in front of them!

This happens about once a week

I never use the foam brush at the manual bay car washes, always use the high pressure soap.

For those that do use the brush, before you use it, rinse it out really well with the high pressure water.

That is what I do, I don't want to take any more paint off my car than the rocks on the highway.

I'm so glad I live in a house and wash my car at home. I used to use a car wash years ago. Luckily, the paint on my cars wasn't perfect so I wasn't all that caring. Great fun to follow a 4X4 washing all of the mud off.

lol u serious!? well all this is makin me think twice. the only reason i go to one like this is bcuz i pay 30 a month and get unlimited washes for a month...... usualy its about 7 per wash and i go everyday sometimes twice a day.. with hand washing it with the presure sprayer reduce those small swirl marks and the light scratches??

i work at a carwash too but its never scratched a car as far as i can tell and we have safety things to make sure the cars don't hit each other. it usually does a pretty good job but still i prefer to hand wash my car.
