Default Wilwoods VS Stoptech

So I've been looking again at doing a BB upgrade. I've started doing lapping days and well the stock brakes are not fully up to the task. Brake fade is NO FUN. Crispy calipers and charred pads don't really suit my taste either. So seeing an almost trippled price difference from the 12.2 to the 13" kits warrants my question for what exactly makes the 13" kits that much better?
Also for the 13" kits any opinions on who has a better kit?

Also one last question at the moment, what is the min size wheel you can use on the 13" kits? My track rims are 17x7 35mm (for now ) and street rims are 18x7.5 45mm.

your 45mm offset will kill you on caliper clearance with the big ones used on these kits. You might be ok with the 2 piston calipers, but the 4 will not work. You should be able to print out a wheel clearance guide to get an idea on what fits and doesn't.

I just installed a 12.2 wilwood kit from TCE on mine and I love it. I upgraded my calipers to the DP6 and DAMN. I live about 45 min from the nurbergring and haven't noticed any brake fade when I'm there. The kit I bought was $1006 but it's well worth it. You get the convenience of lighter smaller rotors but the performance of bigger brakes because of the six pot calipers. They are really the best kit out for the money. I run 17x8 with a 35mm offset and don't need any kind of spacers. To even things out I put powerslot cryo treated rotors and hawk pads on the back. You won't really feel a difference until you press hard. I expected stiff brakes but you don't get that unless you replace the master cylinder. This wilwood kit is good for the street and track from my experiences and it's something to consider. Hope this helps.

Pimpazzberetta, the best advice I can give you is to take a look here: TCE Performance Products - Producing Winning Results since 1993 For your money there's not much else out there that can compare to the performance Todd offers.

Pito2121, do you have any pics of the TCE's 12" kit with the upgraded DP6 calipers? Sould look pretty mean with the new 6 piston calipers. Let's also see some vids of you attacking the ring!

Really, I've got at least a 1/2" of min clearance between any part of the rim and the stock calipers with that offset. I'll have to print off one of those sheets and check it out.

I don't know how to upload pics. Some one let me know and I'll upload some pics of the big brake kit. I've got them behind a set of 5zigen fn01r-c. They look really nice. As for video's of the ring I'm going to be installing a 20g with a portfueler in a couple weeks. With that and the brakes the ring won't be able to hold me. Let me know how to do this whole picture thing.

I think that the ability to post pictures should be a requirement for internet access!

See these RED rotor ? The bigger the rotor the more mass to help dissipate the heat and reduce your potential brake fade. Typically you also have better venting optiona dn more vein area on a larger rotor to help with cooling.

Wilwood 13x1.10 kit with C compound pads and street tires. With the R compound tires, I use an H compound pad.

Not everyone does....and I'm OK with that, but the OP is doing that, so I thinks it's what he needs.
