Default Tokico Illumina mileage

Hey everyone,

I have less than 25,000 miles on my Tokico Illumina 5-way adjustable struts on my non-lowered SRT-4 that has never seen a track and the rears are leaking. How many miles are you typically supposed to get out of these things? I paid $700 just for the parts and I expected more out of them than this. Thanks.

Mark

I've got 60k on my ACR struts. I'd expect no less than 50k (though you may see some wear on a shock dyno). Failure (leaking) usually in the 75-100k?

20+ AutoX events with a track day or two per year.
Did you purchase them used?

What part of the country are you in? Cause rain/ salt/ corrosion could be a factor. I live in AZ with mostly dry days, and I have 61k on my Tokico's on my ACR SRT-4. They aren't leaking and they seem very solid still. I'd say stick with them (new ones).

Thumbs down

I bet these jap shocks adj are really just junk,do with a real company that backs them for life-Koni made in Holland and they will fix them for free if they ever blow. Its a lot of Fun sawing them in half and watching them slowly die! Oh and the Koni shock will never rust because the old strut's saw in half will rust instead then just get some other ond struts and replace them-I coated everything in black mud undercoating!

I do agree on the Koni's. When I finally pop one I'll just have to spring for a set of DA inserts.
