Does anyone have any good pics of a roll cage in a SRT-4? I've seen the autopower roll cage but does anyone have anything more streetable? I am not sure if I would like a roll cage in a street drivable car maybe I should save it for the track? My car usually only goes out on weekends though.
Not Sure kinda stuck.
You don't want a roll cage in your everyday driver. The cage makes it very hard to get in and out of you car. One of my cars has a a 12 point NHRA approved cage in it and it is very hard to get in and out of.
The only way to have one that is more streetable is to have it custom made. Ther is actually a damn good cage builder down in you area. Well North Carolina at least.
Talk with him and see what he can do for you. Don't know what standards you are looking for, if you are looking something that is SCCA legal or what, but definitely talk to Chris.
You can also get a roll bar which will be comfordable on the street. Autopower roll bars give you the option to weld on the front part of the cage if the car ever becomes a full fledged racecar.
Here are some pictures of Christian's cage. He had it done at Slowboy? Racing I think. This is the EXACT setup I would like to have. Notice the pin in bars, for easy entrance
I don't think it's the pin itself, but just that part of the cage. I don't know if you've seen any other cages, but at least the only one I ever saw (tiny) they pressed against the seats and doors even too
The only problem with the pinned side bars like those in the pic is they are not legal at most tracks. And if your car is actualy fast enough to need a rollcage you will fail tech inspection and won't be able to run like that.

If you've seen the way I drive and where I drive you might understand why I might want a rollcage. I'll try to get a hold of a video camera and make some sick mountain driving videos!
