I have a grinding/squeaking noise coming from my right front brakes. It is extremely evident upon light braking at slow speeds. I have had the rotor turned and put on new pads but still prevails. There is no play on the axle to suggest bad wheel bearings. Could my caliper be sticking? Should I bleed the line? It is very embarrassing when I come to a stop. Any advice?

Went back to stock, got bit again by that damn bug, going bigger turbo.. funny how this happens!! I feel all tingly inside again.
I currently use Hawk HPS pads, but have switched back to stock pads to try and eliminate this sound. Didn't help. It's not so much as a squeal/squeek as it is a grinding noise. I guess I am forced to take it to a brake shop and get it diagnosed. It could turn out to be a wheel bearing due to the car pulls slightly to the right. ??? I am extremley mechanically inclined and have had the brakes/caliper and wheel nut off numerous times to try to diagnose but I am stuck on this one.
i just posted a topic about the same exact thing im just under 50k mileage and my pads are in great condition too. i also have the driver front sticking i believe (i thought it was wheel bearing for the longest time). i jacked it up on both sides and the one rotor spun while the driver front didnt suggesting too much pressure (obvious though it got so hot one time i burnt my finger on the wheel after driving).
when you pull into your drive way try and push your brake pedal and see if it gains resistance. mine does and ( How To Diagnose a Brake Problem | eHow.com ) says thats from brake fluid putting too much pressure on the piston creating our problem... ill tell you how it goes tomorrow
I had had my used 05 CE with 28,500 or so for exactly one day and the right front caliper decided to seize. I didn't know it until the front started shaking. I thought a wheel was coming off so I stopped and the right front wheel was putting off heat like a furnace.
Luckily it was still under warranty and the dealer replaced the caliper and put new pads on both sides.
Happy ending.
Ok, I again had the rotors turned (last time tech said) and the noise is not as loud but still there.
On a side note: this noise only happens during slow deceleration and braking. (ex. when coming to a stop light). It does not happen in reverse. I do have a slight squeal from around 5-15 mph but turns into this grinding upon light brake pedal pressure. I am ready to replace the entire rt.front suspension at this time.
About two months ago I had my front passenger side caliper seize up on me. The steering wheel would shake violently at anything over 15mph, there was smoke coming that rotor , and the smell was horrible . I replaced pads, rotors, and fluid before picking up a used caliper from a local that fixed the job.
I have looked on the "for sale" forum but did not see anyone wanting to get rid of a rt. side caliper. If anyone knows anybody with some used srt4 parts, please let me know. Thanks
Are you positive the noise isn't coming from the rear? I thought my grinding noise was coming from the new brakes up front, but it ended up my drivers side rear pads were worn down to metal. Check out your rear pads, mine only lasted 45K.
