Default PICS: Installed BC coilovers (BR type)

i installed my BC coilovers this morning. they are the BR type, aka the non-inverted ones. i didnt adjust the height at all, just put them on and then adjusted the shocks. i currently have them set 6 clicks from full soft in the front, and 5 clicks from full soft in the rear. what an amazing ride! so smooth and tuned, i love this setup. i noticed that with this amount of lowering i have, the front tires lightly rub on the inner plastic of the fenders if i turn while hitting a big bump. (i also have 215 wide tires so maybe those with 205's wont have this problem). like exiting a subdivision or going onto a main road. (just watch out for potholes and big bumps on really sharp turns) the springs are really stiff tho, so the car doesnt move much up and down. a big thanks to Josh a.k.a. IMPORTIMAGE for hooking me up on these here are some pics. please ignore the TEIN decal, i didnt wanna take it off in the cold, in fear that i would wreck the paint. in between pics, i also installed clear corner side markers and projector fogs (without the halo part). these pics are to give people a good idea of what the BC BR types look like at the factory preset height.

looks good, but you need to raise the front up about 1/2" or so. You are going to chew the tires up if you let them stay at that height.

chew them up how, from the camber of because of them hitting the fender wells? im not gunna leave them like that forever, i just installed them and thats all cuz i did this in my uncles shop and he was closing up soon so i had to split. whenever it warms up here im gunna raise it up a little. thanks for the input. i also need shorter endlinks, id say about 1" or 1.25". ill have to measure it before i buy

the camber won't chew up tires, the toe being out of spec will. But you'll actually mess up the tires from hitting fenders when your wheels are turned or just hitting a decent bump or hole on the highway. Hell, that tire would hit the fender just getting in my driveway.

ha yea i have to go over a huge sloped curb in order to get in/out of my driveway, i used to scrape with stock springs and struts. i have to go out on an angle to not scrape with the setup i have now. anyhow, how again do i measure for correct endlink length? dont i let the car sit on the ground without the endlinks off, and measure that distance? thanks

yeah. make the ends of the swaybar parallel to the ground and measure between the swaybar holes and the mount on the strut body. That's the length you need, or close to.

when i say smooth, i dont mean like "cadilac" smooth. what i mean is that its very tuned. no bouncing, no weird movements... nice and tight and returns to level very smoothly. i live in MI and our roads suck! but i have these on my DD and theyre awesome. i need to raise the car tho, i keep rubbing the front tires on the fender wells. im gunna raise the front .5" and lower the back .5"

Cool, when you raise/lower it, do you remove the C.O. and then put it back in? or do you just jack up the car, remove the tire and adjust?

here is a good link on height adjustment for the BC's. basically, the spring/shock combo threads into the lower bracket that bolts onto the wheel knuckle. just remove the wheel, loosen the ring farthest to the bottom, adjust your height, lock the bottom ring back up... and off you go. and for the record, if you want accurate height adjustment on both sides of the car, id highly recommend using a set of calipers, and not a tape measure. tape measures arent very accurate in this type of situation.

HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT

i adjusted the height settings today. i raised the front ~0.7" and lowered the rear ~0.45". looks even better than before. no longer do i rub the fenders in front, no matter what i drive over or how i turn or w.e. this is important btw! i had my front left tire hit this one groove in the fender well only like 10ish times before i adjusted the height, and i already had a noticeable groove in the tread... rubbing is BAD. i have a very slight wheelgap, in front and rear, and both are equal. looks very nice and rides even better
