Need some help. car jerks violently to right. Video

So just the past 20 miles ago the car started jerking violently to the right. It started as I was driving 50mph Down a slightly bumpy road. (did not hit a pot hole) while I was. Driving I noticed a slight bit of a tug to the right an it stopped. As I continued about 5miles later it happened again and was violent. After this I pulled over jacked it up looked at tie rod and axel and both looked fine. I pulled out and continued and on the last 7miles home it made continuous attempts to pull to the right. These were not as violent but were very strong. Car only jerks when pushing gas does not happen when breaking or when coasting. I'm going to take a look at it tomorrow afternoon but any help would be appreciated.

I did notice a small clicking/clunk but that was not constant with the car jerking to right.

Mods to suspension are megan coil, acr bbs rims 205/55/16 hankook v4 all season. Bushings replaced at 64k with oem and car currently has 100k. Car also has upgraded sway bars (mopar)


I was possible think lower control arm but not to sure. Still researching to find answers, any help would be appreciated

So from what I've read it looks to be like LCA or tire rod or alignment issues. Any other ideas

The jerking is called "bump steer". Its when as the tire goes up or down over "bumps", the wheels toe in or out causing changes in "steer"ing. A very small amount of 'bump steer' always exists in the stock suspension but should be barely even noticeable.

When the tie rod, rack, LCA or ball joint are extremely worn, Bump steer can become extreme.

As 'violent' as you say it is, it sounds as if part of the suspension or steering is on the verge of complete failure. Get it fixed ASAP.

oh man that sux, hopefully is not your trann... i dnt kno if its the same thing but my car a few yrs back would jerk pretty bad after i past15mph , it wasnt bad as yours but ended up being a bad right axle and after I changed it, problem stopped... Hope its something small bro good luck

Id pull both axles out of the diff and see if that horrible noise is still there.

he said remove them, not order new ones, one step at a time. You can test pretty easily to see if you have bad axles. Reach under there and grab it with your hand, try to move it around. Play should be minimal in the CV joints.

They're suppose to have quite a bit "in and out" play. Each CV joint should be able to slide on the shaft at least an inch.

Then the shaft may have popped out of the joint if one of the internal snap rings have failed and allowed the joint to partially disassmebly.

If the shaft can rotate independant of the joint, then the shaft is F'ed up.
