Default My Brake Upgrade From RotorPros.com

I just figured I'd share a few pics of my brake upgrade. I purchased the "SRT-4 Package" from Rotorpros.com.

I did decide to go with drilled & slotted over slotted & dimpled despite the stories & pictures you always see on the internet talking about drilled rotors cracking. Because my car might see an autocross or road course on occassion, I was a bit hesitant at first. After looking at more pictures & comparing them to other companies & talking to Rich over at RotorPro's, he talked me into it.

I noticed that vertically the holes are not as close to one another as I've seen. Also with having a row of slots in-between, they are well spaced horizontally too. He re-assured me that he's never has a single rotor come back due to cracking. He also said he stands by his work & warantee.

There's a lot of companies on E-bay & other forums who offer nice looking or even good quality brakes. Why I choose rotorpro's was the following:

- They had them for a very reasonable price.

- They have warantee of way more than 30 days (unlike most the others).

- They also offered all the extra's as well.

Here's some pics of the rotors I had color matched E-Blue. They came out perfect

Here's some pics of just the front rotor's & pads because my brakes were so bad, I couldn't wait any longer. I was still waiting on the brakes lines & some caliper paint.

Here's the paint that I bought. Too bad it didn't come out quite that color.

Before

After

Overall I liked the G2 Caliper paint kit but it definately didn't turn out the color I posted in that pic from their website above. It's a bit more dull & not as bright of a blue. It's not bad but next to the kick ass powdercoating rotorpro's did on the rotors... it make the calipers look a bit off.

I'd definately recommend the G2 kit in colors like black, silver, etc.. Be careful with the orange, red, yellow, & whatnot as it may or may not come out like expected. I'd also say you're just as good off using the dupli-color stuff you can pick up at Checkers too. It says you can clear coat over the top of this safely. Maybe find a clear with a metallic flake & it would set it off more

This was definately an all day project due to the time it take to get the calipers clean. Then it's time consuming getting into all the nook & crannies while painting. It did take 2 coats to get even coverage but there was plenty of the epoxy paint left over. I did need to do some touch-up after installing the pads as I scratched them up a ted. No-biggie, it coated just fine. Being an epoxy paint you have about a 4-5 hour work time before it starts to harden so keep that in mind.

The stainless brake lines, rotors & pads went together pretty smothly. Just make sure you have a 4"-5" C-Clamp to make you're life a lot easier when trying to compress the caliper pistons back in far enough to get the pads on.

Here's some more pics

Check out ROTORPROS - Home Page or their ebay store for more stuff.

looks nice!

out of curiosity, you said you heard the stories about drilled rotors cracking but you deicded to buy them anyway cus the guy said he would warranty them for you if they did... so if they do crack, are you going to be without your car while you send these back or do you still have your stockers you can use in case?

if i was you i would run them hard right now while everything is still new and fresh. watch the rotors for heat checking, it looks like dark patches. if you start seeing that, then cracks are not far behind.

you look like you did a good job...

not to sound like an ass, but you might be too HURT from injuries if your rotors should crack for you to even claim a refund.

regardless, one never knows until it happens. good luck.

How much for the same rotor set you got for the front and back? I checked out their site but under Dodge they only have the Viper rotor listed.

Is that just for the rotors? Or does that include pads and lines as well?

I will back the G2 Paint kit as well. I used the red paint and it came out great and it has held up to a track day without any discoloration
