Motor Mount Broken
So I let my friend drive my car today. I told him to be gentle because I need to drive to Virginia next weekend from Chicago. Well he decided to give it all it had from a dig even after I told him not to. Shortly after there was a terrible whining sound being emitted from the engine bay. I instantly said "transmission, oh shit..." After going though a number of things that could have been the problem we settled on transfer case. All the way home I was sweating. When we got to the parking lot I popped the hood and we saw that there was particles flying off of one of the belts. We looked closer and saw the plate, for lack of better words, that secures the mount to the motor had a broken portion. Im not sure what the "plate" is called but it is on the left side when your looking into the engine bay and its fastened to the motor and the mount. Can some one tell me what this is, and where I could get a new one for cheep? Or if I should check a junk lot, even.
Another question, this could be broken due to everyday stress, I do have solid motor mounts, but could I stop this from happening again some how? I was told that a sway bar could help...
Thanks in advance for any input!
