Default inner fender ridge

Anyone notice there is a ridge or what seems like a pinch rail on the inner fender of the front wheel wells. It really stops me from getting a lower ride height. Is there anything I can do about it?

If you grind it all out you will lose structural integrity. Cut a few slices in it and hammer over and up against the wheel well.

I was able to bend it flat using visegrips and a large sledge hammer.

Yep, big hammer here to! I then took and smoothed it up a little with a grinder, zinc primed it and undercoated. Except for the plastic wheel liner taking a beating it does not look to bad.

I cut mine in half and only use the front portion to protect the washer tank and the air cleaner.

On a rating of how difficult to perform this "mod"; as 10 being ridiculously hard and 1 being too easy. How do you guys rate doing this?

If You have a big hammer and are not afraid of swinging it, maybe a 2. Pull wheel off, there is 4 torx bolts and 7or 8 push pins on the plastic innerliner. You should go to Kragens or some such place and get replacement push pins, some will undoubtedly brake when You remove them. Easy way would be to cut the folded metal seam, and then use the afformentioned big hammer. Then use a primer for use over bare metal on any exposed bare metal, to keep the rust to a bare minimum. bingo!

Now, in my mind, when you say cut the metal seam. I think as cutting the metal seam into two or three segments to allow them to fold over easier when hammering.

Will this method lose structural rigidity?

Do you primer only the metal seam or everywhere metal is exposed. (that was previously covered by plastic.)

Also, how many segments did you cut the metal seam into. like 3-4 segments or like 8-12 little segments.

I would do probably 2 or 3 cuts. Mostly around the curving area.
